Principles of

Community Engagement

Overview

In February 2024, the CETA Board launched an initiative to establish community engagement principles with the goal of setting CETA’s expectations for project partner engagement with potential host communities. The CETA Board approved final principles in October 2024, the result of a months-long examination into community engagement best practices facilitated by Gridworks. The CETA Board identified the urgency of state clean energy goals, the need to expedite transmission development, and the desire for improved outcomes for transmission developers and host communities as the motivations for the project.

CETA recognizes that these Principles may be amended in the future based on experience, changed circumstances, or other factors.
